God do not diverge but interrelate. While prayers of praise and lament in Egypt and, especially, in Mesopotamia begin with doxologies containing long sequences of epithets of the deity addressed,42 a brief invocation suffices in the psalms: Praise YHWH, my soul; YHWH, my God, you are very great. (Ps 104:1) God’s grandeur takes form in the grandeur of his creation. It urges individuals, who experience the cosmos in harmony with their relationship with God, to offer praise. The lament does not differ:
